Hot Water Heating
Water Heating
Vented or Unvented ?
VENTED otherwise known as Point of Use, have an open outlet and rely on the opening of a tap on the inlet side to displace the hot water in the heater with incoming cold.
The open outlet ensures that any excess pressure is vented. You must use special Vented Hot taps with this range.
UNVENTED do not need special taps but have to expand either in the pipework or through an expansion vessel. There is are certain min/max criteria to meet i-e mains pressure, min length of pipework for expansion. Unvented is the more common choice for water heaters.
